Chad Head is the 46th different driver that John Force has raced in final round competition. Coming into this race, Force had 136 wins and 86 runner up finishes in his career, with two wins and four runner up finishes coming this year. The last time Force won from the number one qualifying spot was at the 2004 World Finals, a span of 20 races.

Force got win to make this the 28th time he has won at least two consecutive events. He got out of the gate first but when Head launched and smoked the rear tires, Force's win was all but in the books. In the right lane, Force took his car straight down the groove with a run that would have been tough to beat. This is the 137th win of Force's career.
