Smith had 15 wins and 19 losses in career final round competition coming into this race. He has two wins this year and has been runner up four times. Krawiec had a 21-17 career final round races before this and was 1-1 this year.

Smith added another win to his total with a quick reaction time and quick trip down the quarter mile. He led this one from start to finish for his third win this year and 16th of his career.
