MADISON, Ill. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, Second annual AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals:

Arana is 2 - 1 against Tonglet in prior events.

Arana goes right down the groove with his quickest pass of the weekend but he was a little behind off the line. Tonglet gets the hole-shot, makes his quickest pass of the weekend and hangs on for the win.

Tonglet's incremental margins: 60ft(0.011), 330 ft(0.016), 660ft(0.012), 1,000ft(0.011). MOV: 0.0078 seconds (approximately 2 feet).

Savoie gets out of the gate first, makes his quickest pass of the weekend and takes out the points leader on a hole-shot.

Krawiec is 13 - 4 against Johnson in prior events.

Krawiec gives up a little off the line but makes the quickest pass of the round so far to take the win.

This is the first time Underdahl and Pollacheck have faced each other in eliminations.

The tree comes down and Underdahl doesn't move. Pollacheck leaves on time and starts to pull away. Underdahl finally leaves, then backs off the throttle early.

Berry leaves a little too soon and gives the win to Arana. Arana runs the slowest winning time of the round and will give up lane choice to Tonglet in round two.

John Hall's incremental margins: 60ft(0.013), 330 ft(0.028), 660ft(0.043), 1,000ft(0.052). MOV: 0.0608 seconds (approximately 17 feet).

Hall will have lane choice over Pollacheck in round two.

Joe DeSantis is making his 91st pro start. Joe and Matt Smith have only raced once and Joe won that race at Brainerd in 2010 and that was his last round win (he has only started 6 races since that time).

Smith is late off the line but not as late as DeSantis. Smith gets out in front early and extends his lead all the way through the run.

Smith will have lane choice over Krawiec in round two.

With the win Smith takes over the points lead.
