MADISON, Ill. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, Second annual AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Mike Berry Runs 7.018/184.83, Now #15; No Prior Run
Right Lane: John Hall Runs 6.921/192.49, Now #8; No Prior Run

6:31 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 83 degrees, relative humidity 40 percent, barometer 29.57 inches, adjusted altitude 2,628 feet, track temperature 90 degrees.

had problems in the first round and was unable to make a pass. Berry developed a leak when staging and did not make a pass.

No problems for either rider this time, Hall goes right down the groove to get in the eighth spot for now, Berry gets in the 15th spot.


Left Lane: Joe DeSantis Runs 7.045/186.25, Now #16; Best prior run: 7.086/186.85, Was #16
Right Lane: Wesley Wells Runs 7.046/189.58, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.110/187.57, Was #18

DeSantis improves but not enough to move up in the field. Wells makes a big improvement and moves up a spot.

Left Lane: Jerry Savoie Runs 6.888/192.58, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.962/192.71, Was #14

Savoie takes advantage of the improving conditions and moves up to the fourth spot.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Runs 6.845/195.87, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.942/195.70, Was #12
Right Lane: Jim Underdahl Runs 7.086/189.71, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.959/194.55, Was #14

Arana improves and moves up to the second spot for now. Underdahl slows from his earlier attempt.

Left Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 6.933/192.25, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.941/192.71, Was #12
Right Lane: Shawn Gann Runs 6.952/191.48, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.957/192.22, Was #13

Hines and Gann both improve a little but not enough to move in the order.

Left Lane: LE Tonglet Runs 6.904/193.90, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.928/193.18, Was #11
Right Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 6.899/194.38, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.906/193.90, Was #8

Johnson makes a clean pass but doesn't improve enough to move up in the order. Tonglet improves and moves up a couple of spots.

Left Lane: Hector Arana Jr Runs 6.873/193.52, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.917/192.99, Was #10
Right Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 6.873/193.02, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.897/192.30, Was #7

A good side-by-side, they were glued together all the way through the run. Arana Jr. gets in the third spot by virtue of his faster speed, Krawiec moves to fourth.

Left Lane: Adam Arana Runs 6.886/193.85, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.876/195.25, Was #5
Right Lane: Matt Smith Runs 6.850/195.68, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.892/195.96, Was #8

Smith improves and moves up to the third spot for now. Arana slows from his earlier attempt.

Left Lane: Michael Ray Runs 6.857/193.54, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.844/195.79, Was #1
Right Lane: Scotty Pollacheck Runs 6.881/193.18, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.881/194.58, Was #7

Ray slows a little from his earlier attempt but stays in the top spot. Pollacheck equals his earlier attempt and will be in the seventh spot.
