MADISON, Ill. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, Second annual AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:
Left Lane: Ron Muenks Runs 10.873/88.88, Now #1
Right Lane: Todd Tutterow No Time, Now #2

Muenks is making his NHRA debut...he has violent tire shake right at the hit and clicks it off. Tutterow leaves before the tree is activated and then has a lot of tire shake and pedals it.

Left Lane: Jason Hamstra Runs 8.313/112.78, Now #2
Right Lane: Dan Stevenson Runs 6.030/242.15, Now #1

Hamstra with a lot of tire shake right off the starting line and clicks it off. Stevens started to shake early and pedaled it.

Left Lane: Jim Laurita Runs 11.564/75.16, Now #5
Right Lane: Kevin Fiscus Runs 5.943/246.57, Now #1

Laurita shook as soon as the light turned green and clicked it off. Fiscus was smoking the tires right off the starting line and pedaled it one time. Kevin Fiscus' incremental times: 60ft-1.017 sec., 330ft-2.695, 660ft-3.961/196.82 mph, 1,000ft-5.034.

Left Lane: Robert Patrick Jr. Runs 6.009/239.44, Now #2
Right Lane: David Hance Runs 8.502/125.54, Now #5

Patrick was straight down the groove to go to the number two spot. Robert Patrick Jr.'s incremental times: 60ft-0.995 sec., 330ft-2.665, 660ft-3.962/189.66 mph, 1,000ft-5.071. Hance with problems right off the starting line and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Kevin Rivenbark Runs 6.091/235.10, Now #5
Right Lane: Adam Flamholc Runs 6.010/240.59, Now #3

Flamholc with a good clean pass, straight down the groove. Adam Flamholc's incremental times: 60ft-1.002 sec., 330ft-2.657, 660ft-3.965/190.03 mph, 1,000ft-5.076. Rivenbark with a good pass to start the weekend. Kevin Rivenbark's incremental times: 60ft-1.028 sec., 330ft-2.691, 660ft-4.011/188.12 mph, 1,000ft-5.136.

Left Lane: Harold Martin Runs 6.513/171.05, Now #7
Right Lane: Chris Juliano Runs 6.307/226.32, Now #6

Martin clicks it off early. Juliano with a good pass and then clicks it off early.

Left Lane: Steve Matusek Runs 6.931/222.00, Now #8
Right Lane: Mike Knowles Runs 9.894/84.46, Now #11

Matusek clicks it off early. Knowles with tire shake and clicks it off.

Left Lane: Chip King Runs 6.026/248.11, Now #4
Right Lane: Clint Satterfield Runs 6.047/240.81, Now #6

King with a good clean pass...Chip King's incremental times: 60ft-1.047 sec., 330ft-2.754, 660ft-4.044/194.97 mph, 1,000ft-5.120. Satterfield was right there with him. Clint Satterfield's incremental times: 60ft-1.035 sec., 330ft-2.747, 660ft-4.028/194.74 mph, 1,000ft-5.117.

Left Lane: Pete Farber Runs 10.770/77.31, Now #15
Right Lane: Danny Rowe Runs 5.916/245.45, Now #1

Farber with a lot of tire smoke right at the hit and clicked it off. Rowe launched hard and keep it hooked up all the way down the groove to go to the number one spot. Danny Rowe's incremental times: 60ft-0.982 sec., 330ft-2.619, 660ft-3.909/193.52 mph, 1,000ft-4.999.

Left Lane: Mike Castellana Runs 6.027/240.64, Now #6
Right Lane: Kenny Lang Runs 10.420/78.69, Now #16

Castellana with a good clean pass, straight down the groove. Lang started to smoke the tires as soon as he hit the throttle and pedaled it only to be back up in smoke.

Left Lane: Troy Coughlin Runs 6.176/212.73, Now #11
Right Lane: Von Smith Runs 5.979/241.45, Now #3

Coughlin was on a good pass, but then slowed on the top end. Smith with a great looking pass, straight down the groove to the number three spot. Von Smith's incremental times: 60ft-0.982 sec., 330ft-2.631, 660ft-3.936/190.27 mph, 1,000ft-5.046.

Left Lane: Mike Janis No Time, Now #24
Right Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 6.068/238.13, Now #10

Janis rolled the beam and won't get a time. Smith was straight down the groove. Rickie Smith's incremental times: 60ft-1.001 sec., 330ft-2.678, 660ft-4.004/186.28 mph, 1,000ft-5.127.
