ENNIS, Texas - Results of round 1 eliminations in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 28th annual AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals:

This is the first time Arana and Pollacheck have faced each other in eliminations.

Arana is ninth in the points battle, Pollacheck is sixth so they both need this win to have any chance of winning the championship.

Pollacheck straps a big hole-shot on Arana and pulls ahead all the way through the run with his quickest pass of the weekend.

tonglet gets off the line with a big lead, then Hall starts to reel him in. Hall drifted to the left all the way through the run and slowed near the end. Tonglet made his quickest pass of the event and took the win.

Hines gets a huge holeshot, Krawiec starts to make up ground, then something happens to Hines bike near the end of the run. Krawiec drove around Hines before they reached the 1000 foot mark and pulled away for the win.

Phillips gets off the line first, Arana starts to make up ground quickly, then goes ahead at the 330 foot mark and pulls away for the win.

Hector Arana's incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.031), 330 ft(0.001), 660ft(0.039), 1,000ft(0.070). MOV: 0.1016 seconds (approximately 28 feet).

Arana gets a big hole-shot and starts to pull away. Gann gets about 800 feet out and is out of power, not sure why.

Berry gets out of the gate first, stays in front through the sixty foot mark, then smoke starts pouring from his engine and he loses power. Smith pulls ahead and takes the win with his quickest pass of the weekend.

Matt Smith's incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.006), 330 ft(0.177), 660ft(1.051), 1,000ft(2.488). MOV: 4.3043 seconds (more than 100 feet).

In the next round it will be Pollacheck with lane choice over Arana, Ray vs. Krawiec, Smith vs. tonglet, and Arana, Jr. vs. Savoie.
