ENNIS, Texas - Notes from final, round 2 qualifying in Top Fuel at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, 28th annual AAA Texas NHRA Fall Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Larry Dixon Runs 3.939/292.71, Now #13; Best prior run: 4.829/151.75, Was #18
Right Lane: Terry McMillen Runs 4.302/124.13, Now #16; Best prior run: 5.555/116.97, Was #20

Weather conditions: air temperature 87 degrees, relative humidity 32 percent, barometer 29.29 inches, adjusted altitude 3,129 feet, track temperature 116 degrees.

Dixon was on a great looking pass, but then started dropping a lot of cylinders and then engine let go with a huge fireball. Dixon goes to the number 13 spot. Larry Dixon's incremental times: 60ft-0.841 sec., 330ft-2.177, 660ft-3.122/264.86 mph. McMillen started to haze the tires early and he drove through it to get in the show. Terry McMillen's incremental times: 60ft-0.851 sec., 330ft-2.201, 660ft-3.341/219.36 mph.


Left Lane: Khalid alBalooshi Runs 4.179/260.31, Now #17; Best prior run: 4.704/212.09, Was #19
Right Lane: T.J. Zizzo Runs 3.949/290.44, Now #14; Best prior run: 4.894/150.56, Was #20

alBalooshi starts hazing the tires around half track and then starts mixing up cylinders and pushed out a head gasket with a quick flash of flames. alBalooshi will not get into the show and this is the first time in his short career he has not qualified for a race in Top Fuel. Zizzo was hazing the tires early and was able to drive through it to get into the show. T.J. Zizzo's incremental times: 60ft-0.849 sec., 330ft-2.180, 660ft-3.134/260.76 mph.

Left Lane: Troy Buff Runs 4.041/284.45, Now #17; Best prior run: 4.521/170.97, Was #20
Right Lane: Scott Palmer Runs 4.062/292.14, Now #16; Best prior run: 3.975/302.48, Was #16

Buff with a clean pass, but comes up short of getting in the show. Troy Buff's incremental times: 60ft-0.879 sec., 330ft-2.228, 660ft-3.197/256.36 mph. Palmer with a clean pass, but he will not improve and stays on the bump spot. Scott Palmer's incremental times: 60ft-0.884 sec., 330ft-2.267, 660ft-3.241/259.86 mph.

Left Lane: Antron Brown Runs 3.895/311.05, Now #11; Best prior run: 4.322/237.88, Was #20
Right Lane: Clay Millican Runs 3.835/320.74, Now #4; Best prior run: 3.960/291.63, Was #15

Brown with a great pass to get in the show up to the number 11 spot. Antron Brown's incremental times: 60ft-0.842 sec., 330ft-2.181, 660ft-3.115/272.23 mph. Millican launched hard and keep it hitting on all eight to go to the number four spot. Clay Millican's incremental times: 60ft-0.832 sec., 330ft-2.155, 660ft-3.077/278.40 mph.

Left Lane: Morgan Lucas Runs 3.872/317.87, Now #9; Best prior run: 3.928/281.25, Was #14
Right Lane: J.R. Todd Runs 3.893/310.48, Now #8; Best prior run: 3.871/311.27, Was #8

Lucas with a real nice pass to move up the ladder to the number nine spot. Morgan Lucas' incremental times: 60ft-0.845 sec., 330ft-2.183, 660ft-3.110/277.03 mph. Todd with another good looking pass, but he will not improve and stays in the number eight spot. J.R. Todd's incremental times: 60ft-0.857 sec., 330ft-2.193, 660ft-3.113/273.72 mph.

Left Lane: Brittany Force Runs 3.871/312.06, Now #8; Best prior run: 3.925/298.80, Was #14
Right Lane: Bob Vandergriff Runs 3.912/308.57, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.870/316.75, Was #7

Force with a great pass with it hitting on all eight all the way down the track. She moves into the top half of the show. Brittany Force's incremental times: 60ft-0.838 sec., 330ft-2.165, 660ft-3.094/273.83 mph. Vandergriff will not improve, but has another good clean pass. Bob Vandergriff's incremental times: 60ft-0.845 sec., 330ft-2.182, 660ft-3.125/268.81 mph.

Left Lane: David Grubnic Runs 3.848/320.43, Now #6; Best prior run: 3.895/300.40, Was #14
Right Lane: Doug Kalitta Runs 3.825/318.39, Now #2; Best prior run: 3.835/320.58, Was #5

It is Team Kalitta here...Grubnic with a great pass to move into the top half of the show. David Grubnic's incremental times: 60ft-0.853 sec., 330ft-2.173, 660ft-3.089/277.54 mph. Kalitta launched hard and was straight down the groove to move into the number two spot. Doug Kalitta's incremental times: 60ft-0.842 sec., 330ft-2.159, 660ft-3.066/279.67 mph.

Left Lane: Tony Schumacher Runs 3.878/320.20, Now #12; Best prior run: 3.891/318.47, Was #13
Right Lane: Steve Torrence Runs 3.961/304.46, Now #4; Best prior run: 3.832/320.89, Was #4

Schumacher improves, but will start from the number 12 spot tomorrow. Tony Schumacher's incremental times: 60ft-0.855 sec., 330ft-2.200, 660ft-3.119/278.17 mph. Torrence had a hole out right at the hit and still made a good pass on seven cylinders. Steve Torrence's incremental times: 60ft-0.865 sec., 330ft-2.228, 660ft-3.171/269.08 mph.

Left Lane: Spencer Massey Runs 3.839/318.02, Now #6; Best prior run: 3.880/314.83, Was #13
Right Lane: Brandon Bernstein Runs 4.579/164.87, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.827/316.38, Was #3

Massey with a real nice looking pass as he keep the big Goodyears hooked up all the way down the track to move into the top half of the show. Spencer Massey's incremental times: 60ft-0.846 sec., 330ft-2.167, 660ft-3.078/278.69 mph. Bernstein started to haze the tires around half track and clicked it off.

Left Lane: Billy Torrence Runs 3.886/311.92, Now #8; Best prior run: 3.853/316.52, Was #8
Right Lane: Shawn Langdon Runs 4.345/183.67, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.819/321.04, Was #1

Torrence with a good clean pass, but he will not improve. Billy Torrence's incremental times: 60ft-0.854 sec., 330ft-2.182, 660ft-3.109/273.61 mph. Langdon started to haze the tires around half track and clicked it off. Langdon will hold on to the number one spot and this is the fifth time this season and the 11th time in his career.
