CONCORD, N.C. --
Starting from the No. 4 spot, Booher opened eliminations with a win over Karen Stalba, before then taking out Ken Perry in the quarterfinals with an impressive 5.320 e.t. at 275.39 mph, the third fastest mph ever for a blown car. In the semis, Booher easily moved past No. 1 qualifier, Jeff Veale before then meeting up with class veteran, Rich McPhillips in the final. Throughout the weekend, Booher was consistently in the low to mid 5.30's and the final would be no exception. In spite of McPhillips recording his best et of the weekend, a 5.399, it would be no match for Booher, who left starting line first and never looked back, taking the win with a 5.357 at 266.16 mph.
In Competition Eliminator, multi-time Southeast Division champion Glen Treadwell earned the ninth win of his career and his first this season, when he took out JEGS NHRA Cajun SPORTSnationals winner, Steve Szupka, who broke on the starting line. The Super Stock title went to Bryan Worner, who defeated former class champion and current points leader, Anthony Bertozzi in the final round. Worner won the final round in his GT/DA Camaro after Bertozzi, who was seeking his fourth national event win of the season, red-lighted at the start. The win was also good news for Worner's twin brother, Byron, who is challenging Bertozzi for the national championship in the Super Stock class. Anthony Fetch emerged as the champion in Stock Eliminator after driving his Chevy Nova to a win against the 2013 Cobra Jet Mustang of past national champion Bo Butner. Allowed a big handicap head start, Fetch ran an 11.447 for the win over Butner's quicker 8.873 elapsed time in a race that was decided by three-thousandths of a second at the finish line. Jack Sepanek drove his dragster to the Super Comp title with an 8.937 elapsed time on the 8.90 index after opponent Brian Gutherie broke out with an 8.871 run. After four runner-up finishes, two-time national champion Sherman Adcock Jr. won his first national event title at zMAX Dragway when he stopped Ralph Musi in the final round. Adcock drove his Chevy Corvette to a 9.891 elapsed time to defeat Musi, who drove his Oldsmobile to a 9.877 in a double-breakout final round.
