Racing Delayed Due to Power outage
By Dave Rowe

CONCORD, N.C. - Racing was delayed here at the Carlyle Tools NHRA Carolina Nationals at zMAX Dragway for about 45 minutes due to a power outage. There was an accident on a local highway that took out a couple of power lines causing the outage. Super Comp had two pair left to run and Super Stock was in the lanes. After connecting a generator to the timing system, Super Comp was completed while Super Stock was sent back to the pits. The power was restored during the first round of Top Alcohol Dragster eliminations. NHRA made the decision to finish both Alcohol classes and secure for the night.

Racing will resume tomorrow at 11:00 AM beginning with Super Stock round three followed by Comp, Super Gas, Super Comp, Stock, and then another round of Super Stock.

Pro eliminations will begin at 12:00 PM starting with Top Fuel.
