CONCORD, N.C. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Pro Modified at the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, Sixth annual Carlyle Tools NHRA Carolina Nationals presented by NAPA Auto Parts:

This is the first time Hance and Knowles have faced each other in eliminations. Knowles with a great light and then started to shake and pedaled it. That was all Hance needed to take the win. Hance with his career quickest and fastest pass for the win. David Hance's incremental times: 60ft-1.045 sec., 330ft-2.691, 660ft-3.950/197.57 mph, 1,000ft-5.024.

Rowe gets the win by Danny Rowe's MOV: 0.0151 seconds (approximately 5 feet). Rowe will give lane choice to Hance in the next round. Latino made his quickest pass of the weekend in the losing effort.

Laurita with his quickest pass of the weekend for the win. The chutes didn't come out and then when they came out they were all tangled up. He was on the brakes hard, but couldn't get it stopped before the sand. Lang with the quickest pass of the weekend in the losing effort. Laurita will have lane choice over Janis in the next round.
