AIRWAY HEIGHTS, Wash. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Competition Eliminator at the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, Northwest Division, Northwest Thunderfest at Spokane County Raceway listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, amount over/under index, and position in order following run, class and class index:

Left Lane: Jeff Lane Runs 8.147/165.74/-0.593, Now #1 B/SMA Index: 8.74
Right Lane: Ralph Van Paepeghem Runs 7.410/178.11/-0.550, Now #2 A/EA Index: 7.96

12:30 pm. The clouds have rolled in and the air is very crisp. Van Paepeghem has to drive the car back into the lane and still makes a great run. Lane with a very nice pass to start his weekend off.

Warter makes a great run to go to the #1 spot on the sheet.

Byron has to drive through a little tire shake and but still runs a nice pass.
