COMMERCE, Ga. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Competition Eliminator at the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, Southeast Division, event at Atlanta Dragway listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, amount over/under index, and position in order following run, class and class index:
Left Lane: Wayne Hutton Runs 7.870/166.07/-0.410, Now #2 D/A Index: 8.28
Right Lane: Van Puckett Runs 8.254/162.98/-0.596, Now #1 G/AA Index: 8.85

Puckett makes an impressive pass to set the early
pace.

Right Lane: Russell Joly Runs 7.333/187.00/-0.577, Now #3 C/AA Index: 7.91
Rosenstiel keeps it in the groove and takes the top spot for nw.
Left Lane: Lonnie Johnson Runs 7.382/191.32/-0.188, Now #6 B/AA Index: 7.57
Right Lane: Pat Williams Runs 7.019/202.06/-0.201, Now #5 A/AP Index: 7.22
Left Lane: Kevin Houghtaling Runs 8.639/156.95/-0.631, Now #1 F/SM Index: 9.27
Right Lane: Bruno Massel Runs 7.105/146.78/-0.135, Now #8 I/D Index: 7.24
Houghtaling makes an impressive run for the conditions and takes the top spot for now. Massel has problems late in the run and backs off the throttle.
Left Lane: David Rampy Runs 7.686/126.34/-0.154, Now #9 A/EA Index: 7.84
Right Lane: Lee Sharp Runs 8.430/158.56/-0.510, Now #5 D/SMA Index: 8.94
Rampy was on a nice pass but backed off the throttle early. Sharp made a clean pass to get in the fifth spot for now.
Left Lane: Jim Kimbrough Runs 7.088/190.54/-0.502, Now #7 C/DA Index: 7.59
Right Lane: Michael Hardee Runs 8.414/161.05/-0.576, Now #5 D/SM Index: 8.99
Left Lane: Jeff Adkinson Runs 8.545/158.11/-0.395, Now #9 D/SMA Index: 8.94
Right Lane: Jenny Treadwell No Time, Now #14 J/D Index: 8.25
Treadwell had problems at the hit, clicked it off early and didn't make it to the end of the track.
Left Lane: Glen Treadwell Runs 8.292/141.50/-0.648, Now #1 E/EA Index: 8.94
Treadwell goes right down the groove and takes the top spot to end this session.
