CONCORD, N.C. --
The fourth-annual NHRA Four-Wide Nationals will anchor the spring schedule on April 19-21 with the only four-wide event on the NHRA calendar. The greatest spectacle in drag racing features a 32,000-horsepower assault on the world's only four-lane, all-concrete drag strip as all four professional categories race four-wide all weekend long. The season will kick off in March with Saturday Open Test & Tunes on March 2, followed by the King of the Track Championship weekend March 8 and 9. All cars are welcome to a weekend of racing for the Wallys and a shot to be track champion in 2013. In June, the Hot Rod Magazine Power Tour will wind its way throughout the country, beginning in Arlington, Texas and ending at the Bellagio of drag strips. This seven-day, seven-city tour will travel more than 1,400 miles through five states. The event will attract more than 4,700 cars and includes all makes and models of hot rods, street rods, custom trucks and street machines. The Faith, Family & Freedom Concert returns in June and features contemporary concert acts and a fantastic family-friendly fireworks show. Last year's show sold out well before the event, so fans should plan to reserve their tickets in advance. Import Alliance will return in August with thousands of show cars, the addition of grudge racing, and a huge vendor midway. The NHRA's second visit to zMAX Dragway will kick off the fall season with the sixth-annual NHRA Carolinas Nationals, featuring two-wide racing in the first race in the NHRA's Countdown to the Championship. In October, the Charlotte Diesel Super Show will return for the fourth year in a row for a three-day trucking and construction extravaganza, featuring truck drag racing, exhibits, live demonstrations and more. During the Bank of America 500 Race Week, zMAX Dragway will host a NASCAR Night, during which NASCAR teams and personalities will be invited to try their hand at the only four-lane, all concrete drag strip in the world. The season will conclude with the brand new X-DRL Drag Racing Series season finale on Oct. 25-26. The eighth-mile drag racing series features nine professional categories of the fastest door cars on the planet, as they decide the series championship. zMAX Dragway is also home to both the Roy Hill Drag Racing School and the Doug Foley Drag Racing School. Both schools offer teaching, licensing and corporate entertainment programs throughout the season. Please see their websites for more information.
