Jones made a strong run, second-quickest so far by three thousandths. Unfortunately, the quickest was Riesterer and Jones won't have lane choice when they meet in round two.

Finally they shut it off and pushed the car away. Laurita managed to stage the car, but it did not want to run when he launched and Laurita shut it off and coasted across the stripe. He will not have lane choice against Jenkins in round two.

Stoken used the free pass to run low ET of the round. He will have lane choice against Pilcher in round two.
