ENNIS, Texas - Notes from round 3 qualifying in Pro Extreme at the American Drag Racing League, ADRL World Finals VIII presented by CarSafe listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Alex Hossler Runs 3.655/208.78, Now #7; Best prior run: 3.640/208.01, Was #7
Right Lane: Brandon Snider Runs 3.830/201.91, Now #18; Best prior run: 3.824/202.36, Was #18

8:23 p.m. Clint Thompson is on the bump spot at 3.767.

Hossler did a whole lot of driving for his 3.655, the car left of the groove and loose for much of the run.

Left Lane: Von Smith Runs 4.865/101.97, Now #12; Best prior run: 3.704/203.65, Was #11
Right Lane: Duane Rister Runs 3.700/204.35, Now #10; Best prior run: 3.725/199.40, Was #13

Shake and slow for Smith. Rister made his best run of the dy to move up several spots.

Left Lane: John Stanley Runs 4.339/122.47, Now #11; Best prior run: 3.702/207.24, Was #11
Right Lane: Neal Wantye No Time, Now #15; Best prior run: 3.748/208.14, Was #15

Wantye slowed to a stop after the launch. Stanley had a good run to half track, then slowed.

Left Lane: Mick Snyder Runs 5.647/81.76, Now #5; Best prior run: 3.627/210.18, Was #5
Right Lane: Todd Martin Runs 3.666/206.48, Now #8; Best prior run: 3.685/205.91, Was #8

Snyder shook and slowed. Martin made a career-best run, ET and speed, and stayed eighth.

Left Lane: Tim Tindle Runs 3.650/205.72, Now #8; Best prior run: 3.696/207.43, Was #9
Right Lane: Jay Diedrich Runs 5.995/82.57, Now #17; Best prior run: 3.814/203.58, Was #17

Tindle made his best run of the day to move Martin to the bottom half of the field. Diedrich shook and slowed.

Left Lane: Tommy D'Aprile Runs 3.580/209.85, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.634/208.62, Was #6
Right Lane: Bubba Stanton Runs 4.798/103.53, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.605/210.37, Was #2

Stanton shook and slowed, but D'Aprile made the quickest run in History, too quick for his prior 3.634 to serve as a backup.

Tommy D'Aprile's incremental times: 60ft-0.905 sec., 330ft-2.406.

Left Lane: Danny Lowry Runs 6.853/80.67, Now #20; Best prior run: 3.892/198.00, Was #20
Right Lane: Jason Scruggs Runs 5.109/93.56, Now #4; Best prior run: 3.613/210.18, Was #4

Tire shake in both lanes, Lowry immediately, Scruggs after 100 feet or so, something in the driveline breaking.

Left Lane: Art McMahan Runs 4.640/113.83, Now #13; Best prior run: 3.711/203.16, Was #13
Right Lane: Frankie Taylor Runs 3.577/212.19, Now #1; Best prior run: 3.622/210.54, Was #5

That "quickest ever" didn't last long. Taylor also does not have a backup for that stunning ET, but his earlier 210.57 is fast enough to back up his 212.19 as a speed record.

McMahan shook and slowed.

Frankie Taylor's incremental times: 60ft-0.901 sec., 330ft-2.413.

Right Lane: Quain Stott Runs 3.711/204.94, Now #13; Best prior run: 3.729/200.29, Was #14

Both drivers improved slightly, but after what we just saw, it was kind of a letdown.

Right Lane: Gaylen Smith No Time, Now #22; Best prior run: 3.892/187.60, Was #21

Smith broke on the burnout. Reid made a good run, but not quick enough for this quick field.

Right Lane: Brandon Pesz Runs 3.616/209.88, Now #3; Best prior run: 3.587/211.43, Was #3

Nope. Pesz made a very good run by most standards, but it wasn't even his best of the day.

Moyer's car left hard and headed for the centerline, so he had to lift.
