MADISON, Ill. -- Special awards from the AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals.

K&N Filters Horsepower Challenge award ($3,000 to the No. 1 qualifier in Pro Stock) - Jason Line, Summit Racing Equipment Chevy Camaro, 6.496 seconds, 213.47 mph.

Best Engineered Vehicle - Dwight Nuest, 1982 Dodge Rampage, Super Gas, Kouts, Ind.

NHRA Best Appearing Car - Mike Janis, 2010 Mustang, Pro Mod, Lancaster New York

NHRA Best Appearing Crew - Tony Pedregon, 2012 Toyota Camry, Funny Car, Brownsburg, Ind.

Strange Engineering Perfectly Strange Performance Awards ($250 bonus to the first racer in Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, and Super Street who wins an elimination round by running dead-on their dial-in or index) -

Super Gas: No winner
Super Street: No winner

Full Throttle Hard-Working Crew Award ($3,000 each to Top Fuel and Funny Car and $1,500 to Pro Stock for the crews that are recognized as the hardest working of the event):
Top Fuel: Antron Brown in his Matco Tools dragster ran the third quickest pass in Top Fuel history at 3.737 seconds in qualifying. He also raced to his second consecutive win of the year and the team is peaking at perfect time of the year.
Funny Car: Tony Pedregon powered his Pedregon Racing Toyota Camry to his first semifinal appearance in over a year. The car is running better.
Pro Stock: Jason Line raced his Summit Racing Equipment Chevy Camaro to the No. 1 qualifying position at a time of 6.496. It was the first time he had run in the 6.40's in his Camaro.
Pro Stock Motorcycle: Eddie Krawiec and his Screamin' Eagle Vance & Hines Harley Davidson recovered from a broken transmission in the first round to race to a final round appearance.
