Alderman came into this race with a 15-10 edge over Yates and he made it 16-10 when Yates went red. It's Yates' first red light of the season, but that doesn't make it any easier for Yates, especially since Alderman shook and slowed early in the run.

Jeg came in with a 20-17 edge over WJ in past races and it was a replay of the Yates-Alderman race, this time WJ drawing the red bulb. Jeg will have lane choice against Alderman in the semifinals.

These two were 4-4 in their prior eight matchups. KJ tattooed AJ on the tree and then they were welded together the rest of the way down the track. Kurt Johnson's incremental margins: 60ft(0.023), 330 ft(0.028), 660ft(0.029), 1,000ft(0.028). MOV: 0.0274 seconds (approximately 8 feet).

This was the first time these two ever met in eliminations and it was over immediately, with the red light. It probably didn't matter, because Anderson made the quickest and fastest run ever, both numbers already backed up as national records. Obviously, he has lane choice against Kurt Johnson in the semifinals, giving Anderson a good shot at tightening up the points race. Greg Anderson's incremental times: 60ft-0.999 sec., 330ft-2.795, 660ft-4.293/164.17mph, 1,000ft-5.582.
