Two injected fuelers and they both stage deep. Bates is away first and takes his forth National Championship in the easy win. Harless can't match the pace, as he slows from his prior passes.

Waters is the quickest of the pair, but can't get the blown car in reverse and has to motor on down the track after his burnout.

Sullivan gets the free pass to the finals and just does a little squirt off the line and clicks it early. That gives lane choice to Bates later.
