CHANDLER, Ariz. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Pro Stock at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 27th annual NHRA Arizona Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Grace Howell Runs 23.253/26.24, Now #2
Right Lane: Gordie Rivera Runs 6.904/201.94, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 89 degrees, relative humidity 24 percent, barometer 28.56 inches, adjusted altitude 3,805 feet, track temperature 129 degrees.

Howell with a lot of tire shake right off the starting line and pushed in the clutch. Rivera was straight down the groove...

Left Lane: Steve Kent Runs 17.660/44.85, Now #3
Right Lane: Warren Johnson Runs 6.714/207.50, Now #1

Kent with a lot of tire shake and clicked it off. Johnson has attended every National event here and was straight down the middle of the groove.

Left Lane: V. Gaines Runs 14.435/57.63, Now #4
Right Lane: Larry Morgan Runs 6.689/207.18, Now #1

Gaines like those in front of him with violent tire shake. Morgan goes No. 1 spot....Larry Morgan's incremental times: 60ft-1.009 sec., 330ft-2.803, 660ft-4.301/163.89 mph, 1,000ft-5.594.

Right Lane: Ronnie Humphrey Runs 6.690/206.32, Now #2

Johnson with a little wiggle early, but he drives through it....Humphrey goes to the number two spot. Ronnie Humphrey's incremental times: 60ft-0.999 sec., 330ft-2.799, 660ft-4.297/164.03 mph, 1,000ft-5.592.

Right Lane: Shane Gray Runs 7.536/189.71, Now #7

Gray with tire shake and he clicks it off. Krisher with a great looking pass in the left lane to go to the number one spot. Ron Krisher's incremental times: 60ft-0.992 sec., 330ft-2.786, 660ft-4.281/164.83 mph, 1,000ft-5.569.

Nobile made a move to wall but reeled it in to go to the number four spot. Stanfield gets in the show. Greg Stanfield's incremental times: 60ft-1.007 sec., 330ft-2.823, 660ft-4.331/163.55 mph, 1,000ft-5.627.

Edwards with a real nice pass to go to the number two spot. Mike Edwards' incremental times: 60ft-1.009 sec., 330ft-2.808, 660ft-4.302/165.01 mph, 1,000ft-5.589. Enders with a real nice pass to move into the top half of the show.
