BRISTOL, Tenn. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 11th annual Ford NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals presented by Tri-Cities Area Ford Dealers listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Jay Payne No Time, Now #19; No Prior Run

First round Payne couldn't get the car to fire and this time he got the car to fire and did the burnout, but then the car died and he could get it to fire.

Left Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 6.006/224.92, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.750/169.25, Was #14
Right Lane: Pete Farber Runs 6.177/235.35, Now #8; Best prior run: 9.186/98.87, Was #18

Smith was on a really good pass and then just pass the car made a quick move into the right lane and in front of Farber and the two cars got together. Farber is out of the car and the report is he is okay, Smith is going to be transported to be evaluated...

Left Lane: Steve Matusek Runs 7.831/132.32, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.567/237.21, Was #15
Right Lane: Scott Ray No Time, Now #18; Best prior run: 8.791/104.23, Was #18

Matusek got real loose and clicked it off. Ray with a good pass to get in the show, but apparently used up an engine and put some oil on the track so this run won't count..

Left Lane: Mike Knowles Runs 6.226/191.00, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.301/235.06, Was #14
Right Lane: Melanie Troxel Runs 5.962/252.66, Now #2; Best prior run: 7.412/187.60, Was #17

Troxel with a great pass, straight down the groove to go to the number one spot. Melanie Troxel's incremental times: 60ft-1.042 sec., 330ft-2.744, 660ft-4.007/198.44 mph, 1,000ft-5.069. Knowles moves up the ladder one spot. Mike Knowles' incremental times: 60ft-1.009 sec., 330ft-2.684, 660ft-4.019/185.59 mph, 1,000ft-5.159.

Left Lane: Troy Coughlin Runs 6.133/242.80, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.354/230.72, Was #15
Right Lane: Chip King Runs 6.302/230.76, Now #16; Best prior run: 8.112/123.68, Was #18

King is straight down the groove into the show. Chip King's incremental times: 60ft-1.107 sec., 330ft-2.950, 660ft-4.268/192.11 mph, 1,000ft-5.358. Coughlin with a great pass to get into the top half of the show. Troy Coughlin's incremental times: 60ft-1.053 sec., 330ft-2.763, 660ft-4.086/188.28 mph, 1,000ft-5.202.

Left Lane: Ed Hoover No Time, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.224/233.64, Was #13
Right Lane: Mike Janis No Time, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.251/231.95, Was #15

Hoover was on a good pass until the car started to get out of the groove and then collected the finish line cones. So neither Hoover or Janis' runs will count, as Hoover was in front of Janis.

Left Lane: Dennis Radford Runs 6.030/235.60, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.102/235.39, Was #7
Right Lane: Danny Rowe Runs 15.165/58.71, Now #14; Best prior run: 6.243/203.98, Was #14

Rowe starts to shake the tires and clicks it off. Radford with a great pass and moves up the ladder one spot. Dennis Radford's incremental times: 60ft-0.998 sec., 330ft-2.654, 660ft-3.956/190.06 mph, 1,000ft-5.077.

Left Lane: Raymond Commisso Runs 6.023/241.80, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.099/217.28, Was #7
Right Lane: Kenny Lang Runs 8.282/109.01, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.201/238.01, Was #12

Lang started to shake and clicked it off. Commisso launched hard and keep it hooked up to move up the ladder one spot. Raymond Commisso's incremental times: 60ft-0.986 sec., 330ft-2.653, 660ft-3.971/188.31 mph, 1,000ft-5.088.

Left Lane: Khalid Balooshi Runs 6.059/199.70, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.014/242.15, Was #5
Right Lane: Leah Pruett-LeDuc Runs 5.987/241.89, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.168/239.70, Was #10

Balooshi used up an engine in the lights...Pruett-LeDuc launched hard and keep it hooked up to go to the number four spot. Leah Pruett-LeDuc's incremental times: 60ft-0.970 sec., 330ft-2.627, 660ft-3.938/189.18 mph, 1,000ft-5.054.

Left Lane: Brad Personett Runs 8.473/115.33, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.961/252.80, Was #3
Right Lane: Roger Burgess Runs 6.141/216.97, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.104/226.24, Was #9

Personett started to shake and clicked it off. Burgess got out groove, but stayed with it. He will not improve.
