LAS VEGAS - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 10th annual NHRA Las Vegas Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Keeter Ray Runs 5.746/249.76, Now #9; Best prior run: 13.094/68.40, Was #20

Weather conditions: air temperature 73 degrees, relative humidity 30 percent, barometer 27.84 inches, adjusted altitude 3,780 feet, track temperature 76 degrees.

Ray with a nice pass until around 800 feet when it had a little wiggle. He still gets into the show. Keeter Ray's incremental times: 60ft-0.996 sec., 330ft-2.558, 660ft-3.790/200.98 mph, 1,000ft-4.847.

Left Lane: Brian Smith Runs 11.505/76.36, Now #19; Best prior run: 12.185/70.29, Was #20
Right Lane: John Lombardo Jr. Runs 5.859/253.04, Now #13; No Prior Run

Smith smokes the tires right at the hit and pedals it only to go back up in smoke. Lombardo Jr. gets it down the track with a good pass to get in the show. John Lombardo Jr.'s incremental times: 60ft-1.001 sec., 330ft-2.657, 660ft-3.915/198.09 mph, 1,000ft-4.969.

Gasparrelli starts to lose traction right off the starting line and pedals it a couple times, but will not get in the show. Steve Gasparrelli's incremental times: 60ft-1.049 sec., 330ft-2.939, 660ft-4.247/192.80 mph, 1,000ft-5.329. Ruckman with a real nice pass, straight down the groove into the top half of the show. Woznichak lost traction right at the hit. Webster drifted toward the centerline and pulled it back into his lane.
