MOHNTON, Pa. -- Special Awards from the Toyo Tires NHRA Nationals.

K&N Filters Horsepower Challenge award ($3,000 to the No. 1 qualifier in Pro Stock) - Allen Johnson, Greeneville, Tenn., Team Mopar / J&J Dodge Avenger, 6.551 seconds, 210.70 mph.

Best Engineered Vehicle - Charlie Greco, Paoli, Pa., Comp, 10 Cobalt L/AA

NHRA Best Appearing Car - Dave Casey, Hampden, Mass., Stock, 1969 Corvette A/S

NHRA Best Appearing Crew - Dale Creasy, Beecher, Ill. Funny Car, 2009 Impala

Perfectly Strange Awards:
Stock Eliminator: Brooks Lee, Binghamton, NY
Super Comp: Jeff Kundratic, Fallston, MD.
Super Gas: Paul Schonberger, Birdsboro, PA
Super Street: Bernie Staub, Dover, PA

Full Throttle Hard-Working Crew Award ($3,000 each to Top Fuel and Funny Car, $1,500 to Pro Stock and $750 to Pro Stock Motorcycle for the crews that are recognized as the hardest working of the event):
Top Fuel: Antron Brown's crew worked hard after the first round explosion to get him back into the eliminations. He went on to beat teammate Tony Schumacher in the second round.
Funny Car: Matt Hagan's Don Schumacher Racing crew made it to their second consecutive final round appearance and also lowered his national record in Funny Car to 4.011. They also took over the points lead in Funny Car during the weekend.
Pro Stock: Dave Connolly and his part time Pro Stock team returned to racing for only his second event of 2010. During eliminations his team was able to get him all the way to the final round.
Pro Stock Motorcycle: LE Tonglet and his team finally got their much needed spare motor that they used during three rounds of qualifying. They put in the old motor for the final round of qualifying on Saturday and also used it for eliminations on Sunday.
