NORWALK, Ohio - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, Fourth annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Right Lane: John Hart Runs 5.939/244.65, Now #1

Hart with a clean pass to start the weekend.

Left Lane: Wayne Butler Runs 5.933/238.09, Now #1
Right Lane: Cassie Simonton Runs 7.673/118.50, Now #3

Simonton is off the throttle by half track. Butler with a good pass...

Left Lane: Jason McKnight Runs 8.707/94.31, Now #4
Right Lane: John Bojec Runs 18.172/31.06, Now #5

Weather conditions: air temperature 77 degrees, relative humidity 60 percent, barometer 29.17 inches, adjusted altitude 2,822 feet, track temperature 116 degrees.

Bojec is up in smoke as soon as he hits the throttle. McKnight starts to shake the tires and clicks it off.

Right Lane: Larry Dobbs Runs 5.771/252.80, Now #1

Gill with problems just past half track and had the chutes out early. Dobbs was straight down the groove with a good looking pass.

Right Lane: Clint Thompson Runs 5.816/247.70, Now #4

Henry with a lot of tire spin and clicked it off...Thompson was straight down the groove. Clint Thompson's incremental times: 60ft-0.947 sec., 330ft-2.583, 660ft-3.863/196.39 mph, 1,000ft-4.924.

Right Lane: Andy Bohl Runs 8.220/176.84, Now #9

Veney waited after the light turned green and then blasted to the number one spot with a great looking pass. Todd Veney's incremental times: 60ft-0.994 sec., 330ft-2.558, 660ft-3.784/201.76 mph, 1,000ft-4.832. Bohl shook right off the starting line and clicked it off.

Right Lane: Mickey Ferro Runs 5.593/256.06, Now #1

Ferro with a great pass going to the number one spot...Mickey Ferro's incremental times: 60ft-0.942 sec., 330ft-2.472, 660ft-3.680/204.08 mph, 1,000ft-4.715. Manzo was just a few ticks behind him for the number two spot. Frank Manzo's incremental times: 60ft-0.948 sec., 330ft-2.512, 660ft-3.733/204.70 mph, 1,000ft-4.767.
