Smith is 5 - 3 against Stoffer in prior events. Stiffer had a perfect light but it wasn't enough for the win a Smith ran her down. He gave up lane choice to Phillips in round three.

It was almost a dead heat at the starting line, but Tonglet edged out Arana at the finish for the win. He'll race Johnson in the semi-final round and Johnson will have lane choice.
