BAYTOWN, Texas - Noon - It's still raining. Rain cells keep forming southwest of Houston and are on a southwest-to-northeast track, bringing them right over Baytown and the track. The end appears to be in sight, but it's been that way for the past two hours. Whenever this does end, it will take about two hours to dry the track, raising the distinct possibility this will turn into a one-session, last-chance qualifying scenario for those outside the 12-car provisional fields in the Full Throttle categories. As always, the Sportsman categories will get the leftovers in terms of schedule. The ironic part is that up until about 8 a.m. today, the probability of precipitation for today and tomorrow was as close to zero as it ever gets here in the Houston area. Even now, it is being shown as 20 percent on many forecasts, despite the fact that it has been raining for over two hours now. Stay tuned, "we ain't going anywhere."
