CHANDLER, Ariz. -- Special awards from the 26th annual NHRA Arizona Nationals.

K&N Filters Horsepower Challenge award ($3,000 to the No. 1 qualifier in Pro Stock) - Mike Edwards, Coweta, Okla., Penhall/Interstate Batteries Pontiac GXP, 6.609 seconds, 209.46 mph.

Best Engineered Vehicle - Special Metals Top Dragster entries. Drivers: Phil Unruh, McPherson, Kan.

NHRA Best Appearing Car - Zavala & Sons Racing Chevy Super Stock entry. Driver: Larry Zavala, Montebello, Calif.

NHRA Best Appearing Crew - Kendall Dodge Stratus Pro Stock team. Driver: V. Gaines, Lakewood, Colo.

Full Throttle Hard-Working Crew Award ($3,000 each to Top Fuel and Funny Car, $1,500 to Pro Stock and $750 to Pro Stock Motorcycle for the crews that are recognized as the hardest working of the event):
Top Fuel: Steve Torrence's Tuttle Motorsports crew for putting up a monster run, beating Tony Schumacher in the second round
Funny Car: Tony Pedregon's NitroFish Chevy Impala crew for making it to the semifinals and beat the No. 6 and No. 7 qualified cars when they had qualified in the 14th spot
Pro Stock: Greg Stanfield's NitroFish Apparel Pontiac GXP crew for beating three-time world champion Jeg Coughlin in the first round. Bob Yonke also won his first round of Pro Stock competition with an engine for Stanfield's new engine program
Pro Stock Motorcycle: Not contested at this event
