ROCKINGHAM, N.C. -- After winning his first Minuteman trophy in the ADRL, Cody Barklage and team Lucas Oil will race this weekend in the National Guard ADRL Flowmaster Dragstock VI at Rockingham Dragway.

"I can really say we're on top of our game right now," said Barklage. "We just had our first ADRL win; we know how tough competition can be. We certainly take nothing for granted. Because we know everyone will be performing at their best, we've spent the past few weeks preparing. We've been able to lighten our load a little bit thanks to Chris Duncan. Hopefully with the car a little bit lighter, we'll be able to repeat our success."

Currently 6th in 2009 ADRL Speedtech "Battle for the Belts" points standings, Barklage and team knows this weekend could make or break their 2009 season.

"This is the last event for us to get points for the 09 Battle," said Barklage. "Although we're in 6th, the chase is tight. We do have room to advance, but so do a lot of others behind me. I have to stay in the top eight to make the Battle next month. Although we're confidant we'll be able to qualify well and go rounds, we know we have to be on top of our game. Everyone will be performing at their best; we have to make sure we're prepared for everything. There are a lot of good cars, but I know my Lucas Oil, Goodyear car is also one of the best."

"Even though there is more pressure then usual because we're at the end of the season, we will just try to do our best," Barklage added. "We always race to win, but after the last event we know we can. I have a lot of faith in my crew chief Chad Wilson, my dad and everyone who helps us. I really believe we have a special team, so this weekend, should be a good one."

The National Guard ADRL Flowmaster Dragstock VI at Rockingham Dragway will take place this weekend, September 11 - 12, 2009. Spectator gates open at 9 AM each day with Friday qualifying starting at Noon and will run all day. Saturday, the final qualifying round is at Noon, Pre-Race ceremony at 3:00 PM with Rd.1 just after.
