MOHNTON, Pa. -- Special awards from the 25th annual Toyo Tires NHRA Nationals.

K&N Filters Horsepower Challenge award ($3,000 to the No. 1 qualifier in Pro Stock) - Mike Edwards, Broken Arrow, Okla., ART Pontiac GXP, 6.640 seconds, 207.78 mph.

Ringers Gloves Pro Bike Battle award ($1,000 to the No. 1 qualifier in Pro Stock Motorcycle) - Hector Arana, Milltown, Ind., Lucas Oil Buell, 6.986 seconds, 190.11 mph.

Best Engineered Vehicle - Mayo & Delong Racing Comp entry. Driver: Kevin Robb, Denver, Pa.

NHRA Best Appearing Car - Diamond RV Center Super Stock entry. Driver: Gregg Sutherland, Ludlow, Mass.

NHRA Best Appearing Crew - Twilight Zone Top Fuel entry. Driver: Dominick Lagana, Scarsdale, N.Y.

Strange Engineering "Perfectly Strange" performance award ($250 bonus to the first racer in Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, and Super Street who wins an elimination round by running dead-on their dial-in or index) - Sportsman eliminations not finished until later date.

Quest for the Full Throttle Moment Award ($3,000 each to Top Fuel and Funny Car, $1,500 to Pro Stock and $750 to Pro Stock Motorcycle for the top moment in each category during the event):
Top Fuel: Larry Dixon defeats his Don Prudhomme Racing replacement, Spencer Massey, in the final round.
Funny Car: Bob Tasca defeats John Force in the semifinal round of eliminations after Force had a red-light start.
Pro Stock: Jeg Coughlin defeats No. 1 qualifier Mike Edwards in the second round of eliminations, showing off the Cagnazzi horsepower.
Pro Stock Motorcycle: Michael Phillips defeats Doug Horne in the second round of eliminations to move into the top ten in points.
