Phillips got out of the date first but Horne had taken the lead before they got to the 60-foot marker. Horne held the lead to mid track, when Phillips got by him for the win. Phillips will have lane choice over Whitaker in the next round. Michael Phillips' incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.022), 330 ft(-0.021), 660ft(-0.007), 1,000ft(0.014). MOV: 0.0364 seconds (approximately 10 feet).

Guidera clinched a spot in the Countdown to One when he beat Andrew Hines in the first round. This time, Guidera went red, so Krawiec got the win. Krawiec will race Arana in the next round and Arana will have lane choice.
