Pro Stock Motorcycle Qualifying Notes, Session #2
By Jim Samuel

MOHNTON, Pa. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 25th annual Toyo Tires NHRA Nationals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:
Left Lane: Matt Smith Runs 7.076/187.05, Now #9; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Wesley Wells Runs 7.211/183.42, Now #13; No Prior Run

2:30 p.m. - Weather conditions: air temperature 83 degrees, relative humidity 66 percent, barometer 29.24 inches, adjusted altitude 3,374 feet, track temperature 98 degrees.

There was a 20-minute delay after the end of Super Stock because of water seeping through the track after the finish line. Smith and Wells had problems in yesterday's qualifying session and did not make the provisional field. There are only 16 motorcycles here this weekend so as long as they can get down the track, they'll make the show.

Left Lane: Geoff Godfrey Runs 7.685/166.09, Now #16; No Prior Run
Right Lane: Neil Jacobs Runs 7.627/171.95, Now #15; No Prior Run

Godfrey drifted right when they passed the finish line and came close to Jacobs. Both will be in the show.

Left Lane: Bailey Whitaker Runs 7.240/172.08, Now #14; Best prior run: 7.258/174.87, Was #14
Right Lane: Andrew Hines Runs 7.042/189.31, Now #5; Best prior run: 7.068/189.95, Was #8

HYines moved up three spots. Whitaker will stay where he was.

Left Lane: Matt Guidera Runs 7.138/183.62, Now #12; Best prior run: 7.108/185.95, Was #12
Right Lane: Shawn Gann Runs 7.088/186.92, Now #8; Best prior run: 7.059/188.10, Was #8

Both riders were slower than yesterday and both will stay where they were in the order.

Left Lane: Craig Treble Runs 7.162/185.56, Now #11; Best prior run: 7.105/187.39, Was #11
Right Lane: Douglas Horne Runs 7.183/186.12, Now #7; Best prior run: 7.056/188.44, Was #7

Neither rider moved up in the order.

Left Lane: Steve Johnson Runs 7.107/183.42, Now #10; Best prior run: 7.080/187.36, Was #10
Right Lane: Junior Pippin Runs 7.164/183.07, Now #6; Best prior run: 7.053/188.02, Was #6

There was a 20-minute delay after the previous pair of riders because of seepage on the track. Neither rider was quicker than yesterday.

Left Lane: Eddie Krawiec Runs 7.051/187.34, Now #4; Best prior run: 7.041/187.91, Was #4
Right Lane: Karen Stoffer No Time, Now #3; Best prior run: 7.023/188.65, Was #3

Krawiec and Stoffer did their burnouts and were staging when officials shut them down because of weepers. It only took a minute or two before they were told to start the bikes again. Stoffer launched and her bike shut down right away. Krawiec was not as quick as yesterday and will stay where he was in the order.

Right Lane: Hector Arana Runs 7.063/190.06, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.986/190.11, Was #1

Arana could not run quicker than yesterday but neither has anyone else so he'll stay in the top spot for now.
