Pedregon is 24 - 19 against Capps in prior events and each has won 2 times against the other in final rounds. This is Pedregon's third consecutive final round appearence.

Capps struck the tires at about 250 feet. He tried to pedal through it, but the Goodyears wouldn't hook up. This win gives Tony Pedregon the Funny Car points lead.

Tony Pedregon's incremental times: 60ft-0.924 sec., 330ft-2.355, 660ft-3.338/262.23 mph.
