CLERMONT, Ind. - Notes from round 4 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 49th annual Mac Tools U.S. Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Al Billes Runs 6.861/130.99, Now #15; Best prior run: 9.457/113.75, Was #16
Right Lane: Rick Stivers Runs 6.291/223.95, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.302/216.41, Was #7

Left Lane: Mike Ashley Runs 6.299/223.54, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.269/223.39, Was #6
Right Lane: Scott Ray Runs 6.452/217.95, Now #12; Best prior run: 6.388/219.08, Was #12

Ashley with a nice pass, but will not improve.

Patterson with his best pass of the event to break into this tough show and that bumped out King.

Critchley shook right off the the starting line and clicked it off.

Right Lane: Fred Hahn Runs 9.241/109.41, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.229/227.27, Was #2

Hahn with tire shake and as soon as he launched and clicked it off. Barklage with his best pass for the event, but still comes up short.

Left Lane: Marty McGinnis Runs 6.515/217.32, Now #13; Best prior run: 6.440/218.44, Was #13
Right Lane: Von Smith Runs 15.014/55.35, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.232/228.31, Was #3

Smith made a quick move toward the wall as soon as he launched.

Left Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 6.258/223.88, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.226/224.40, Was #1

Smith with the quickest pass of the session dialing it in for eliminations.

Left Lane: Chip King Runs 6.292/226.47, Now #9; Best prior run: 6.315/226.73, Was #9

King with great looking pass and just misses the cut. That wraps the next to last session with Rickie Smith on top and Stivers on the bubble.
