K&N Filters Horsepower Challenge award ($3,000 to the No. 1 qualifier in Pro Stock) - Mike Edwards, Broken Arrow, Okla., Penhall/Young Life Pontiac GXP, 6.605 seconds, 208.52 mph.

Best Engineered Vehicle - Fort McDowell Yavapi Materials Chevy Cobalt Super Gas entry. Driver: Stephen Brunson, Scottsdale, Ariz.

NHRA Best Appearing Car - Crower Super Comp dragster entry. Driver: Guy Aguayo, Santee, Calif.

NHRA Best Appearing Crew - Borco LP Pontiac Grand Am Comp Eliminator entry. Driver: Robert Haas, Houston

Strange Engineering "Perfectly Strange" performance award ($250 bonus to the first racer in Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, and Super Street who wins an elimination round by running dead-on their dial-in or index) - Super Gas: Lamar Swindoll, Hitchcock, Texas; Stock: Jim Meador, Yorba Linda, Calif; Super Comp: Keith Downing, Glendale, Ariz.; Super Street: Not Contested.

Quest for the Full Throttle Moment Award ($3,000 each to Top Fuel and Funny Car, $1,500 to Pro Stock and $750 to Pro Stock Motorcycle):
Top Fuel: Antron Brown for defeating Tony Schumacher in the semifinal to take the Top Fuel points lead for first time in his career.
Funny Car: Mike Neff for his second round win and the great tuneup he put on the car in crew chief John Medlen's absence.
Pro Stock: Ron Krisher for his second round victory over top qualifier Mike Edwards.
