DINWIDDIE, Va. - Results of round 3 eliminations in Competition Eliminator at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, Third annual Virginia NHRA Nationals:

Frank Aragona Jr. has a 0.07 CIC penalty; Rodger Brogdon has a 0.06 CIC penalty.

Both cars had problems on the start, Brogdon's a bucking bronco and Aragona making a hard move toward the Christmas tree. Brogdon sloed around half track.

Al Ackerman has a 0.10 CIC penalty; Allen Stanfield has a 0.02 CIC penalty.

Stanfield gave back a tenth on the tree, almost giving Ackerman an easy win, but Ackerman could not run the number and Stanfield got the win light. Allen Stanfield's MOV: 0.0168 seconds (approximately 3 feet). Stanfield race Aragona next round, picked up 0.03 more in CIC for the win here.

Szupka was off the pace and Martel got the win without taking any more CIC burden. Arnie Martel's MOV: 0.0151 seconds (approximately 4 feet).

Anthony Bertozzi has a 0.14 CIC penalty; Peter Biondo has a 0.10 CIC penalty. Two of the best ever...Anthony Bertozzi's MOV: 0.1146 seconds (approximately 20 feet). He picked up a couple hundredths additional CIC, so his index will take a "nickel hit" on Monday. He races Martel in the semifinals, so their CIC penalties will just about cancel each other out.
