These two riders have never faced each other in NHRA competition. Phillips got the win when Collis left too soon and lit the red light. This will be Phillips' first final since he won at Houston in 1995.

Scali had the quicker start but Savoie made up the difference and more by the time they reached the 60 foot marker. Savoie will have lane choice over Phillips in the final round. Angelle Savoie's incremental margins: 60ft(0.004), 330 ft(0.026), 660ft(0.033), 1,000ft(0.037). MOV: 0.0422 seconds (approximately 12 feet).
