9:11 p.m. Strasburg's car did not make a burnout and when the light turned green, he just sat there, apparently staging a broken car. That was a huge break for Lagana, who lost traction almost immediately and pedaled a couple times before coasting to the win.

Boychuk is driving Todd Payton's car, with Barry Paton listed as crew chief. Mike Kloeber is turning the wrenches for Jones.

Good race, both cars under power all the way, but Jones' car stepped way up, running low ET of the event. Boychuk can hold his head up, he ran his first-ever four-second ET in his firts-ever IHRA event, in front of a hometown crowd. Jones will have lane choice against Lagana in the final.
