Gunderson lost in the semi-final to Richard Bourke but got the win when Bourke's car was 15 pounds light at the scales. Kosky's last national event win was here at Maple Grove in 1999. Gunderson had the quicker start but Kosky pulled ahead of him by the time they reached the 60-foot mark. Kosky stayed ahead until they got past the 1,000 foot mark when his engine blew and Gunderson got by to take the win. Michael Gunderson's incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.058), 330 ft(-0.107), 660ft(-0.066), 1,000ft(-0.006). MOV: 0.1682 seconds (approximately 50 feet).
