NORWALK, Ohio - Results of round 1 eliminations in Pro Stock at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, Second annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals:

Anderson is 26 - 3 against Edwards in prior events, riding a 22-round-win streak against Edwards and holding a 2-9 edge in round one. The bad part about dominant records and streaks is that they have to end sometime.

Edwards took a shot and went red - and Edwards wasted low ET of the weekend. Anderson made his best run of the weekend (not counting the K&N Horsepower Challenge final round) and goes to round two.

Connolly is 9 - 5 against Johnson in prior events, but they are 3-3 in opening rounds. WJ is tenth in the points, Connolly is 11th and wants to get into the top ten.

Connolly left first, then ran low ET of the weekend and put "The Professor" in the trailer. WJ was closing on the top end with his big speed, but came upo about eight feet short.

This is the first time Deceglie and Morgan have faced each other in eliminations.

Morgan left on Vinnie and held him off for the win, the two cars making almost identical runs. Larry Morgan's incremental margins: 60ft(0.033), 330 ft(0.037), 660ft(0.043), 1,000ft(0.044). MOV: 0.0416 seconds (approximately 13 feet).

Gaines and Johnson have each won 6 times against the other in prior events, but AJ has a 5-3 edge in opening rounds. He is fresh off a win in the K&N Horsepower Challenge and looking for the double-up challenge.

Gaines went red, then AJ ran low ET of the meet, the first in the sixties. He will have lane choice against Morgan in the quarterfinals.

Line is 1 - 0 against Jones in prior events and that was in an opening round. Line went against the trend and chose the Summit (left) lane (of course).

Line cut a great light and ran away from Jones, who did a pretty good job on the tree himself. Line will have lane choice against teammate Anderson in the second round.

Humphreys laid a ten on Coughlin and made it stick to take a holeshot win against the second-quickest run of the weekend. Wow! Justin Humphreys' incremental margins: 60ft(0.019), 330 ft(0.021), 660ft(0.020), 1,000ft(0.015). MOV: 0.0085 seconds (approximately 3 feet). Humphreys will not have lane choice when he faces Connolly in round two.
