NORWALK, Ohio - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Top Alcohol Funny Car at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, Second annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, and position in order following run:

Left Lane: Mark Poyser Runs 6.064/232.59, Now #2
Right Lane: Jeff Burnett Runs 5.750/249.39, Now #1

Weather conditions: air temperature 85 degrees, relative humidity 54 percent, barometer 28.95 inches, adjusted altitude 3,642 feet, track temperature 119 degrees.

Poyser drifted out of the groove, but reeled it back in...Burnett launched hard and was straight dow the groove with a nice pass.

Right Lane: Keeter Ray No Time, Now #12

Ray with violent tire shake as soon as he hit the throttle, and clicked it off. He coasted to a stop just before the finish line. Nothstein's pass looked quicker than the scoreboard, but...

Right Lane: Marc White Runs 5.725/252.43, Now #2

Smith with a lot of tire shake and clicked it off. White with a lot of tire shake right off the starting line, but was able to drive through it and go to the number two spot. Von Smith's incremental times: 60ft-0.971 sec., 330ft-2.691, 660ft-4.561/117.24mph, 1,000ft-6.646

Right Lane: Frank Manzo Runs 5.688/257.53, Now #1

This was a good looking side by side drag race to wrap up the session. Manzo goes to the number one spot...Frank Manzo's incremental times: 60ft-0.993 sec., 330ft-2.561, 660ft-3.778/205.19mph, 1,000ft-4.812 Harker with a little wiggle around 330 feet, but still goes to the number three spot. Steve Harker's incremental times: 60ft-0.969 sec., 330ft-2.539, 660ft-3.771/201.04mph, 1,000ft-4.823
