ENNIS, Texas - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Pro Modified at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 18th annual O'Reilly Fall Nationals presented by Castrol Syntec listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 6.243/225.67, Now #1; Best prior run: 6.296/224.21, Was #2
Right Lane: Mike Castellana Runs 6.297/221.45, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.326/221.07, Was #3

5:54 PM Current weather conditions: 78 degrees, 55 percent relative humidity, the barometer 29.80inches, with a track temperature of 99 degrees.

Smith makes a great run, right down the groove, and moves up to the top spot. Castellana makes another good pass and stays in the third spot.

Right Lane: Fred Hahn Runs 6.308/225.16, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.427/221.45, Was #13

Hahn makes a big jump and gets in the show. No help for McGinnis.

Left Lane: Bill Hill Runs 6.543/216.29, Now #15; Best prior run: 6.449/215.62, Was #15
Right Lane: Dennis Radford Runs 6.413/219.88, Now #10; Best prior run: 6.381/220.91, Was #10

Clean runs for both drivers but both fail to make the field.

Right Lane: Mitch Stott Runs 6.343/225.00, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.401/223.32, Was #13

Stott moves a little out of the groove but it doesn't seem to affect his run. No help for Critchley.

Right Lane: Von Smith Runs 6.323/225.96, Now #5; Best prior run: 6.333/227.04, Was #5

Billes comes off the line, heads for the wall and wisely shuts down. Smith makes another good run but doesn't move up in the field.

Left Lane: Shannon Jenkins Runs 6.256/224.71, Now #2; Best prior run: 6.270/223.38, Was #2
Right Lane: Kirk Kuhns Runs 6.303/216.34, Now #4; Best prior run: 6.387/224.66, Was #12

Kuhns makes a good run and gets in the top half of the field.

Left Lane: Tim McAmis Runs 6.325/225.11, Now #8; Best prior run: 6.379/222.99, Was #11
Right Lane: Mike Ashley Runs 6.292/224.38, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.427/220.26, Was #14

Ashley jumps into the field in the third spot, McAmis to the 8th spot, bumping out Stott and Patterson.

Left Lane: Thomas Patterson Runs 6.287/225.73, Now #3; Best prior run: 6.367/222.55, Was #10
Right Lane: Scott Ray Runs 6.304/222.66, Now #7; Best prior run: 6.376/220.58, Was #12

Patterson was just bumped from the field but changes that on this run. Ray also gets in, Von Smith and McAmis get bumped out.

Torkelson makes a clean run this time but still doesn't get in the show.

Right Lane: Frankie Taylor Runs 6.331/222.11, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.370/220.58, Was #12

Taylor improves from his earlier run but still isn't in the show.
