TOPEKA, Kan. - Notes from round 1 qualifying in Competition Eliminator at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 20th annual O'Reilly NHRA Summer Nationals presented by Castrol GTX listing lane, driver name, elapsed time, top speed, amount over/under index, and position in order following run, class and class index:
Left Lane: Ray Goodman Runs 7.670/170.56/-0.230, Now #2 A/EA Index: 7.90
Right Lane: Sean Dodd Runs 7.233/189.34/-0.407, Now #1 B/AA Index: 7.64
11:54 a.m.
Left Lane: Chris McGaha Runs 8.110/164.11/-0.250, Now #3 D/A Index: 8.36
Right Lane: Pete Carbery Runs 7.200/190.59/-0.450, Now #1 B/A Index: 7.65
Another pair of division 4 racers.

Holloway was to the left of the groove for most of this pass.

That puts Massel in the top spot for now.

Beyer broke in the tunnel and Robison broke on the burnout.

Benham got back on the wheelie bars on the hit. He bounced a couple times, then he coasted down the track.

Matusek is skating around early in this pass, yet he jumps to the top of the ladder by a bunch.
Left Lane: Dan Fletcher Runs 8.272/162.39/-0.448, Now #7 C/EA Index: 8.72
Fletcher moved to the left of the groove on the hit, but he was able to get it in line by about 250 feet.
