He has a 10/3 win/loss advantage over Gains. In his 147th start, V. Gaines has qualified in the #9 spot for the sixteenth time, the most of any position.
Line's car moves a little off the line,
but it doesn't cost him much. He gets the advantage off the line and holds it to the finish

Allen Johnson will finish this year in the #4 spot in the Championship for a career best. He
beat Humphreys in the only time they met in eliminations. Humphreys is making his 13th career start
in PS. Naylor goes red by -0.009 and Johnson goes on with a clean and straight pass.

5 Kurt Johnson 20 Tom Hammonds

Johnson won her in 1997, 2000, and 2002 and has a three to one win advantage over Hammonds.
This will be his first pass after a trip into the Kitty Litter in the third round of qualifying
yesterday morning. Imagine, coming all the way to California for a nose job! Hammonds is making his
100th start this weekend.KJ gets the advantage off the line and then spins the tires. Hammonds
was right there and thunders on down the track to take the 10 foot win.

9 Richie Stevens 351 Ron Krisher

Krisher is starting from the 12# spot for the twelfth time and has won over Stevens in the four
times that they have met in eliminations. Stevens got his first win here in 1998. Krisher is
late and can't match the Hemi power. Stevens makes a clean pass into round two.

Stanfield nails the tree and gets
the hole shot win over a stronger WJ. Two clean passes. He gives up lane choice in round two to
Hammonds by 0.006 seconds.

in Points for the Championship. Edwards is making his 198th start, won here in 1996, and has a
three to two advantage over Connolly.Connolly puts a nail in his Championship hopes with a
-0.013 red light Edwards finishes the run without issues and give the next round lane choice to
Line.

Anderson won here in 2003, 2004, and 2006 and has bested Humphreys in their two prior
encounters. He is the current leader in the 2007 Championship points. Humphreys is making his
thirteenth PS start. Another big upset and Anderson is outa here. Humphreys so-so 0.034 light is
too much better than Anderson's 0.087 and he gets the hole shot win. He'll get lane choice over
Johnson in round two.
