POMONA, Calif. - Notes from final, round 4 qualifying in Pro Stock Motorcycle at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 43nd annual Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals listing lane, rider name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Ryan Schnitz Runs 7.472/173.34, Now #19; Best prior run: 7.375/178.76, Was #19

Weather conditions: air temperature 79 degrees, relative humidity 32 percent, barometer 28.98 inches, adjusted altitude 2,607 feet, track temperature 106 degrees.

No help for Schnitz to open the final session.

Left Lane: Michael Phillips Runs 7.141/187.00, Now #17; Best prior run: 7.108/189.79, Was #16
Right Lane: Angie McBride Runs 7.057/182.28, Now #13; No Prior Run

Not sure of everything behind this but Chris Rivas has been withdrawn and Angie McBride gets the call for a one shot qualifying deal. Wonder of wonders! She actually puts the bike in the show and now waits to see what happens in the rest of the session. I think we'll be hearing more about this in the near future.

Gann is on the bump with his 7.097 and he fails to improve on his final hit. Ray will be a spectator on Sunday I'm afraid.

Right Lane: Mike Berry Runs 7.427/185.41, Now #18; Best prior run: 7.129/185.51, Was #18

Right now it appears that Pippin is going to make this field. Certainly a great start for him. Berry just can't put it all together.

Both are in but neither can improve.

Johnson falls way off his best pace as he spins the tire hard at the hit.
