6:28 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 76 degrees, relative humidity 46 percent, barometer 29.80 inches, adjusted altitude 1,559 feet, track temperature 95 degrees. The sun has set behind the left side grandstands and the track in now in full shadow. The Metal Wood Bat marketing guys are throwing foam bats into the stands on both sides of the track.

Gilbertson is away first and easily leads Lee from start to finish. He opens up his lead at every mark on the track. Lee's car moved around some after mid-track, but Gilbertson is straight and true to take the 2007 IHRA World Finals Nitro Funny Car Championship.
