POMONA, Calif. - Results of round 1 eliminations in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series, 39th annual Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals:

1:37 PM Exclusive to WWW.DragRaceCentral.com: Steve Federlin and Jack O'Bannon announced that they would be teaming up together in 2004 to challenge the National Championship with a blown alcohol package.

Federlin has a stellar light and steals the win. Both cars were close all the way down the track. Steve Federlin's MOV: 0.0138 seconds (approximately 5 feet).

Northwest vs Midwest in this pair. Severance and Hirata left together and ran together to mid track, where Hirata pulled away. He had some smoke off the engine in the lights.

Myers is away first and then starts to drop cylinders as he ran down the track. Lucas was right there and actually improves on his qualifying time.

We have a little staging duel and they finally pull into the lights. They are away almost exactly together and was pulling away until the engine went away. Shields continues to impress with his new fuel package. Duane Shields' incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.010), 330 ft(-0.062), 660ft(-0.043), 1,000ft(0.043). MOV: 0.2454 seconds (approximately 73 feet).
