To Men and Women Stationed Overseas

GLENDORA, Calif. - NHRA has announced the continuation of its relationship with The American Forces Network (AFN) to deliver the unique sights and sounds of NHRA POWERade Drag Racing to the men and women stationed overseas.

"The American Forces Network (AFN) graciously thanks the NHRA for providing our men and women in uniform stationed overseas with race coverage for the

2007 season," said Jeff White, executive director of the AFN Broadcast Center. "The NHRA on AFN is a tremendous morale booster for our soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines serving in harm's way. The most deserving audience in the world are our troops in remote and hostile locations defending our way of life against terrorism, and providing humanitarian support to those in need. We thank the NHRA for helping us bring them home during these telecasts."

The U.S. Armed Forces, along with DoD civilian employees and their families, will be able to follow the NHRA's POWERade Drag Racing Series all season long on AFN and the U.S. Navy's Direct-to-Sailor (DTS) television service to ships at sea.

In an agreement with the NHRA and ESPN, Inc., the AFN Broadcast Center plans to provide tape delayed distribution of ESPN2's television coverage of the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series on its AFN | sports and AFN | prime channels, along with the U.S. Navy's DTS television service.
