Four Different Events will Highlight the 75th Anniversary of the '32 Ford Hot Rod

POMONA, Calif. --
At the Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports
Museum, presented by the Automobile Club of Southern California, a panel
discussion, a '32 Ford cruise, a hot rod SAE seminar and a Deuces Wild
exhibit, will honor the 75th Anniversary of the '32 Ford. The events kick off at
the Museum during the Grand National Roadster Show (GNRS), January 26-28,
at the Pomona Fairplex.
FREE Hot Rod Seminar
Saturday, January 27th, 9:30 a.m. - 11 a.m., the Museum's celebration
begins with a free SAE seminar dedicated to hot rods. Hosted by the Parks
Museum's Executive Director, Tony Thacker; speakers will include So-Cal
Speed Shop's fabricator, Jimmy Shine and automotive designer, Thom
Taylor. "The seminar is an excellent opportunity for enthusiasts to ask
questions and learn about the hot rod business," said Greg Sharp, Parks
Museum curator. The hot rod seminar is the third in an on-going series of
seminars sponsored by the Southern California chapter of SAE International.
All the NHRA/SAE seminars are free to the public.
FREE Deuces Wild Panel Discussion
Saturday, January 27th , 5:30-7 p.m., the Deuces Wild panel discussion
will give audience members a unique insight into the history of the '32
Ford. "We are delighted to welcome this highly knowledgeable group who
know the history of hot rodding and the Deuce in particular," said Sharp. The
Deuces Wild panel discussion will be moderated by Deuce author and
photographer Robert Genat. The panelists will include:
* Roy Brizio; Hot rod builder.
* Larry Erickson; Ford designer and hot rod builder.
* Tony Thacker; Author and Parks Museum Director.
* Roger Morrison; Collector and hot rod preservationist.
"DEUCES WILD" Exhibit
Wednesday, February 17. The Deuces Wild exhibit opens featuring,
among others, the most famous '32 of all time, the "Little Deuce Coupe" from
the Beach Boys album of the same name; a recreation of Fred Allen's "Devil
Deuce"; the "Orange Crate"; the Tommy Foster Roadster; Neal East's
Roadster and the Berardini Bros. Roadster. Historic and never-before-
displayed photography of early '32 Ford production will be shown alongside
dozens of photographs of hot rod and racing Deuces. Also in the exhibit will
be some of the JDRF customized pedal cars, early magazines, vintage model
kits, historic speed equipment and '32 Ford related artifacts.
Deuce Cruise In
Wednesday, February 21. Parks Museum will continue the celebration
when it hosts the final stop of the '32 Deuce Cruise presented by the L.A.
Roadsters Car Club.
