GLENDORA, Calif. --
"Coming on the heels of what was by far one of the most successful events of the year, NHRA and Las Vegas Motor Speedway have jointly agreed to keep the ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals on the last weekend of October in 2007," said Tom Compton, president, NHRA. "We believe this move will further establish this event as one of the largest and fastest growing on the NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series circuit." By moving the ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals, it will generate additional momentum for the inaugural year of the NHRA POWERade Countdown to the Championship as the final two races of the season will be run on back-to-back weekends. As part of next year's Countdown, the ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals marks the beginning of the "Countdown to One," when each of the four professional categories will be reduced to the top four for the final two races and the quest for the NHRA POWERade World Championship. The week following the Las Vegas event, the Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals will be staged at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona, Nov. 1-4. 2007 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series Schedule - Revised
