5:11 p.m. Ray gets the hole-shot and starts to pull away. He stays out in front past the 1000-foot mark, then Harker has a big top end charge and drives around him for the win.

Franke had problems right from the hit, the engine sounding sluggish, putting smoke out all the way through the run. He bangs the blower about 1000 feet out and the car noses over. Payne goes right down the groove but will give up lane choice to Harker in the final round.
