NOBLE, Okla. - Notes from round 2 qualifying in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, South Central Division, event at Thunder Valley Raceway Park listing lane, driver name, elapsed time/top speed this round, position in order following run, best prior elapsed time/speed, and position in order prior to run:

Left Lane: Edwin Schmeeckle Runs 6.972/134.99, Now #7; Best prior run: 5.587/252.95, Was #7
Right Lane: Mike Austin Runs 5.534/261.78, Now #6; Best prior run: 5.579/257.21, Was #6

Schmeeckle blew a burst panel at half track.

Left Lane: Scott Murray Runs 5.751/237.65, Now #10; Best prior run: 5.780/239.42, Was #10
Right Lane: Darryl Hitchman Runs 6.161/221.56, Now #11; Best prior run: 6.003/227.38, Was #11

Hitchman was laboring down the track. Murray improves a little, but not enough to make the field

Left Lane: Aaron Olivarez Runs 5.684/257.36, Now #9; Best prior run: 5.623/256.11, Was #8
Right Lane: Karl Brounkowski Runs 5.536/260.79, Now #7; Best prior run: 5.638/256.26, Was #9

Olivarez didn't have any obvious problems, but he needed a better pass as Brounkowski bumped him from the field.

Left Lane: Brandon Pierce Runs 5.377/248.89, Now #2; Best prior run: 5.371/257.28, Was #2
Right Lane: Garrett Bateman Runs 5.525/259.66, Now #6; Best prior run: 6.037/239.87, Was #12

Pierce was moving around his lane and Bateman's good looking pass gets him into the show for now.

Left Lane: Randy Meyer Runs 5.437/261.55, Now #4; Best prior run: 5.489/249.44, Was #4
Right Lane: James Thompson Jr Runs 5.603/253.80, Now #3; Best prior run: 5.398/258.24, Was #3

A trouble-free pass for Meyer. Thompson dropped a cylinder or two on the top end.

Right Lane: Spencer Massey Runs 5.327/265.56, Now #1; Best prior run: 5.365/267.22, Was #1

A very good looking pass for both drivers.
